The senior accountant is a dynamic role assisting withtechnical accounting, internal financial reporting and will beresponsible for the maintenance of vapotherm's standard costingsystem including, but not limited to, labor analysis, costreduction projects, variance tracking, and job closings.
areas offocus will include cost of goods sold (cogs) and r&d.
thesenior accountant requires written and verbal fluency in spanishand english at a b2 level or higher the senior accountant analyzesmaterial, labor, or other expenses to determine production costs,cost of sales, or other cost-related performance measures.
thisposition is responsible for capturing and classifying cost data todetermine the cost associated with products/product lines,projects, or departments, providing cost-related data in support ofbusiness decisions or for use in financial reporting andparticipating in or overseeing regular inventory cycle counts.additionally, this position conducts inventory and warranty reserveanalysis on a quarterly basis and generate reports for seniormanagement.
primary responsibilities: - assist with preparation,reconciliation and tie-out of financial statements - perform fluxanalysis - actual versus plan, year over year - create and maintainvapotherm's cost accounting methodology - provide input into weeklycross-functional cogs meetings, working closely with the fp&aand ops functions - monitor and track ppv, material, labor and ohvariances - enhance and manage the overhead and variancecapitalization policy in conjunction with the accounting supervisorand/or assistant controller - bom analysis and maintenance asrequired - complete required month-end, year-end audit and boardmaterials in a timely manner - prepare cogs-related monthly journalentries manually or by initiating electronic creation through oursoftware program, review journal entries carefully for anomaliesand other inconsistencies - review rates of depreciation, labor andoverhead - monitor inventory transactions and cycle count results -generate ppv reports and weekly operations scorecard - review andsign off on engineering change orders - review open orders and billof material - review various cost and labor allocations -responsible for reserves analysis and inventoryaccounting/reconciliation - responsible for all cost relatedcontrols - work with assistant controller and/or accountingsupervisor on all cost related process improvement initiatives -assist with suggesting and implementing changes to policies orprocedures to increase transparency and support business decisionsposition requirements - education, knowledge, years of experience,etc.
: - bachelor's degree in accounting, cpa or equivalent a plus -2-4 years of progressive cost accounting experience in amanufacturing environment - able to speak, understand, and write inenglish and spanish at a b2 or higher level.
