Overview
the purpose of the position is to work within the labor relations area to handle summons from the various conciliation centers at each of the company's sites, negotiate employment terminations with employees, authorize administrative records to proceed with disciplinary actions, provide legal advice on labor and employee relations matters to various departments such as operations and human resources, follow up on investigations of individual labor disputes, and maintain control over summons and labor lawsuits.

* accountabilities / responsibilities:
* consult with the labor relations management on high-impact or sensitive cases to provide notice and guidance on hr matters.
* collaborate with the human resources team to develop solutions, programs, and policies that support business needs.
* provide hr advice and support to managers and staff on a wide range of strategic and operational hr issues.
* manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
* conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations as assigned by labor relations management.
* minimize legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance; consult external legal counsel when necessary due to case complexity.
* provide daily guidance to management on performance management (coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions).
* work closely with operations management and both unionized and non-unionized employees to improve interpersonal relationships, increase productivity, and enhance retention.
* provide guidance and interpretation of hr policies.
* offer insights and support on workforce planning and succession planning.
* handle non-complex employment terminations at ww mexico sites, draft termination agreements, and ensure negotiations are effectively concluded.
* identify site development needs and individual coaching requirements, and follow up to ensure development goals are met.
* report kpis to labor relations management, including open, closed, and settled summons by site, open and closed labor lawsuits, and cost savings from internal handling of legal events.
education
job requirements
bachelor's degree in law / labor relations or a related field.
knowledge
labor law, employee relations, human resources, general knowledge of laws, and mexican official standards (noms).
experience
2 to 3 years of experience attending hearings and employment terminations before local and federal labor conciliation centers, drafting administrative records, reviewing and approving them for submission to labor authorities, applying the company's internal work regulations and policies, handling inspections from the ministry of labor and social welfare, responding to labor summons, analyzing lawsuits and requirements from authorities at all three levels of government.
application of the federal labor law, federal occupational safety and health regulations, understanding and application of gender violence regulations, and their interaction in labor disputes involving physical, psychological, and moral violence among workers, as well as resolving such conflicts.
