Overview
Acts as a liaison between Customers and the Plant, attends customer visits and complaints, follows up on corrective actions, and leads efforts to reduce defective parts per million (PPMs) in products shipped to customers. Maintains the Plant Quality Manual and leads changes to the Quality Management System (QMS). Serves as lead auditor and trainer for ISOTS IATF16949, AS9100D, and ISO14001. Coordinates with registrar agencies and customers on quality system reviews and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Customer satisfaction: liaison between customers and the plant; manage visits, complaints, and corrective action follow-ups.
- Quality management system leadership: maintain the Plant Quality Manual; drive QMS changes; lead internal audits and training for ISOTS IATF16949, AS9100D, and ISO14001.
- Quality planning: implement and track Advanced Quality Planning in initial manufacturing phases.
- Inspection methods: define critical characteristics, establish inspection/testing methods, and sampling plans across material receipt, process, and final product.
- Advanced statistics: train personnel and apply statistical techniques to reduce process variation.
- Internal audits: coordinate processes to verify compliance with QMS requirements.
- Quality management processes: establish and maintain processes to ensure QMS compliance per reference documentation.
- Corrective actions: manage actions to eliminate causes of non-conformance; follow up on 8D reports with leadership teams.
- Measurement system validation: analyze measurement systems, methods, and instruments used to quantify units of measurement.
