general job description:
* assist customers by tracing packages, answering questions regarding fedex products and services, and providing over-the-counter and over-the-phone service.
* prepare various operations reports.
* handle customers with packages in cages.
* maintain and audit records and files as assigned (airway bills).
* review airway bills and register as necessary. Interface with customers on customs-related issues.
• provide administrative and clerical support to the station operations manager.
• check packages to ensure proper labeling, legality of content, including weight and size, proper wrapping, insurance values, special requirements for hazardous material shipments, and compliance with customs documentation at destination.
• maintain a neat and clean workplace/front counter, appearance of self and uniform.
• recognize new customers or additional business opportunities, open new accounts, obtain additional shipments, and submit sales leads.
• perform other duties as assigned.
minimum requirements
* education: high school degree/equivalent
* language proficiency: proficiency in english (450 toeic points)
experience:
* previous clerical or customer service experience in a service environment or 18 months of experience as a service agent.
skills:
* ability to lift 70 lbs. (32 kgs) and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs. (68 kgs) with appropriate equipment.
* good office skills including typing, filing, and computer literacy.
* excellent communication, organizational, and human relations skills.
* clear and articulate speaking voice.
* neat appearance and professional demeanor.
* ability to successfully complete the reading, listening, sorting, and math sections of the basic skills test.
* ability to work variable shifts.
