position summary statement:
the specialist, tax will work on activities related to monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax compliance, including tax calculations, filing returns, preparing information returns, and tax accounting. This role monitors and ensures the accuracy of tax account balances and provides guidance to various teams to ensure all reports for payments to vendors, employees, and tax calculations comply with local regulations. The position requires expert knowledge of systems, accounting standards, and tax regulations. Additionally, it supports complex duties related to vat refunds, offsetting favorable tax balances, and field audits.
detailed responsibilities:
1. validate that data for tax calculations and information returns is correctly downloaded and processed.
2. communicate with other departments to provide tax guidance and ensure accurate information from a tax perspective.
3. review monthly tax prepayments (it, vat, excise tax, & withholding taxes).
4. reconcile tax accounts monthly, including tax roll forward, fund reconciliation, and reports such as hnf and e-books.
5. prepare drafts of annual tax returns, statutory reports, and transfer pricing documentation.
6. assist with complex internal and external audit procedures.
7. prepare quarterly and annual reports for the foreign investment registry.
8. validate the preparation and submission of information returns (diot and excise tax).
9. file the annual shareholder’s notice.

required qualifications:
skills:
* technical skills: strong understanding of accounting standards for multinationals, federal and state tax frameworks, corporate and international taxes, proficient in excel, knowledge of microstrategy bi (a plus), and erp software such as oracle.
* soft skills: ability to handle a wide scope of tax activities, teamwork, high ethical standards, and good communication skills.
languages:
* intermediate to advanced spoken and written english.
experience:
* over 5 years of tax compliance experience across diverse accounting and tax tasks.
* experience with annual income tax returns and statutory reports.
* interpretation and application of local tax regulations.
* experience with internal and external audits.
education:
* bachelor’s degree in accounting.
* postgraduate studies in taxes are a plus.
