Overview
The Sr.
Test Engineer will be responsible for managing our environmental, reliability and failure analysis programs while supporting the operations with continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develops test protocols (electrical, mechanical, environmental and accelerated testing)
Manage the laboratory test request and allocate resources as required
Supervises staff of technicians and operators
Manage the preventive maintenance program for the quality department
Manage the return analysis program
Manages the QMT Program
Participate in new product development (NPD) to ensure all customer requirements are met and the manufacturing process is robust
Manages Calibration program
Work with engineering and manufacturing staff, equipment manufacturers and vendors to develop solutions and implement preventative measures to address product and process quality problems
Analyze results and recommend solutions to complex product and process quality problems
Lead and/or participate in supplier audits and qualification process
Assure compliance to company procedures, policies and most current revision of ISO 9001 standard
Work on complex and innovative projects to reduce internal and external quality issues
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BS degree in electronics engineering or other technical discipline
7+ years of quality or engineering experience with a minimum 5 years in a Quality or Test role
Skilled in project management and handling multiple projects simultaneously
Experienced on environmental testing protocols and equipment
Strong statistical knowledge
Excellent problem-solving skills
Self-sufficient and thrives in a team environment
Ability to influence and lead others, a change agent
Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
Bilingual English/Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of Pareto analysis techniques, Gage R&R;, Control Plans and FMEA
Skilled in the use of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database computer programs
Enthusiastic, hardworking, results oriented with a can-do attitude, working towards career advancement
Effective at multitasking and time management
Experience in new product introduction process
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience managing reliability testing laboratory
MBA or MS degree in related field
Experience on MaintainX system
Experience in High Voltage surge testing equipment and protocols
Experience in environmental test chambers
7 to 5 years in a leadership position as a quality supervisor or equivalent role in a high-volume manufacturing organization
Experience in test automation (PLCs, HDMIs, Labview)
Strong knowledge of ISO 9000, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma
