Senior process engineering manager – paint operations
we’re looking to add a senior process engineering manager in guadalajara to lead a team of process engineers and technicians focused on improving paint process engineering capabilities and supporting the paint process area.
responsibilities
* manage a team of engineers and technicians to establish and maintain statistical process control systems.
* lead gemba walks to lift the execution profile and controls as well as operational conditions of the area.
* manage and drive kpis such as yield, mrb, oee, uph and new technologies implementation.
* accountable for the development of a sustainable system for the process and for ensuring continued efficiency through the wash, masking, paint application and cure process.
* proactively lead new product introductions, ensuring proper dfm is shared in a timely fashion.
* establish and improve process capabilities and develop and maintain process documentation.
* manage development projects designed to meet customer product specifications, delivery, and cost expectations.
* work with other engineering team members to design new products that can be manufactured.
* improve throughput in constrained areas and develop, test, and implement new materials and processes for improved performance or lower cost.
* manage cost‑reduction efforts in assigned process areas.
* coordinate initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs and improve performance in constrained areas.
* implement appropriate hr strategies and actions to recruit and preserve knowledge with training strategies and evaluation methodology.
* collaborate with the training department to maintain good operational practices on the floor, including equipment clean‑up and preventive measures.
qualifications
* degree in chemical, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
* strong knowledge in manufacturing/metal‑mechanical industry.
* extensive experience in powder coating and liquid paint application.
* proven experience in full paint line implementation (continuous or batch systems).
* experience with product qualification for painting, silk screen and tampon (pad) printing.
* advanced english level.
* advanced ms office skills (excel, powerpoint).
* knowledge of systems integrity.
* experience in the design and fabrication of fixture gauges.
* strong knowledge of core tools, especially fmea.
* proven people leadership and team management experience.
* strong problem‑solving skills.
* detail‑oriented with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
* strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
* lean manufacturing certification is a plus.
