Materials, chemical management & sustainability engineer
we are seeking a materials, chemical management & sustainability engineer to join our core engineering team. This role is responsible for developing and implementing processes that ensure material compliance, environmental sustainability, and effective execution of engineering deliverables across the organization.
this is a highly cross‐functional position that combines technical expertise, process development, and sustainability leadership.
key responsibilities
* develop and implement corporate policies, processes, and documentation supporting product design & development teams.
* review and approve supplier change requests and new material registrations in collaboration with purchasing and business units.
* support sustainability initiatives including circular economy programs, recycled content requirements, and product carbon footprint analysis.
* lead implementation of new engineering processes and act as a change agent across the organization.
* develop training strategies and deploy training materials.
* monitor, report, and analyze kpis to drive continuous improvement.
* ensure compliance with global environmental regulations (e.g., reach, rohs, material declaration systems).
* provide technical support for validation and process development activities.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental science, materials science, or related field.
* minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
* experience in material compliance, chemical management, or sustainability initiatives.
* knowledge of regulatory requirements and material declaration systems (imds experience preferred).
* six sigma or equivalent problem‐solving certification (preferred).
* strong documentation, presentation, and cross‐functional collaboration skills.
* proficiency in microsoft office; experience with plm systems is a plus.
