this role will focus on achieving customer-centric agility, deep technical expertise in import and regulatory processes, and strong people leadership to unite diverse teams toward common goals.you will ensure seamless coordination between demand and supply planning, customer care, logistics, and project management—delivering an outstanding customer experience while guaranteeing cost-effective transportation, optimized lead times, and effective inventory management.
the role also requires solid expertise in legal importation requirements and licensing to ensure full compliance with mexican regulations and smooth cross-border operations.core responsibilitiesstrategy design and execution (customer centricity & agility)provide key supply chain inputs to operations and contribute to the definition of the mexico supply chain strategy and objectives.implement the defined supply chain strategy, ensuring full alignment with business priorities and driving continuous improvement through frequent kpi reviews and agile adjustments.foster a strong customer-centric mindset across all supply chain functions, ensuring proactive communication and partnership with internal and external stakeholders.champion collaboration between planning, customer service and logistics teams to anticipate customer needs and ensure rapid, effective response to emerging challenges.functional & technical expertise (imports, logistics & regulatory compliance)oversee all regulatory and logistical aspects of chemical imports into mexico f&b, ensuring compliance with requirements issued by sener, cofepris, semarnat, and the secretaría de economía amid increasingly complex and frequently evolving government regulations.coordinate with customs brokers and suppliers to prevent delays and secure necessary permits, safety data and documentation.execute import and inventory management strategies that optimize cost-effective transportation, streamline lead times, and ensure compliance with trade and safety regulations.collaborate in supply and demand reviews as part of the mexico s&op cycle, ensuring data-driven decision-making.work closely with im&s and other internal teams on the selection and management of customs brokers and suppliers to ensure smooth import operations.support sustainability and esg initiatives, incorporating compliance and ethical sourcing into supply chain practices.execute the annual operating plan within approved budgetary targets.people leadership & team engagement (unite teams and drive collaboration)lead, engage, and inspire cross-functional supply chain teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and shared ownership of results across planning, customer care and logistics.promote a culture of teamwork and open communication, bridging gaps between departments and aligning diverse teams to common goals.partner closely with hr and regional leadership to recruit, develop and grow local supply chain talent, building a strong pipeline of motivated professionals.oversee annual hr processes within the mexico supply chain team, validating performance results and supporting professional development plans.coach and mentor team members, encouraging continuous improvement and recognition within the organization.strengthen team engagement initiatives to enhance collaboration, trust, and agility during periods of operational change or high demand.education / primary qualificationbachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations management, or related discipline.mba or master's degree in a technical or management field preferred.strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire, unite, and empower teams.fluent in spanish and english; other languages are a plus.excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.high communication and interpersonal effectiveness, able to influence and collaborate across functions with a customer-first approach.proficiency in supply chain management systems and tools.professional experience7–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations with a strong background in supply chain and materials management, customer service, and process optimization.5-7 years of progressive experience in people management and team leadership, preferably in cross functional or matrix organizations.experience driving organizational change, operational restructuring, or process redesign initiatives.technical skillscomprehensive expertise in mexico's trade affairs, encompassing import and customs regulations and effective collaboration with regulatory bodies.good understanding of transportation markets and international trade practices.familiarity with local and international safety and compliance norms (cofepris, sener, semarnat, etc.).
