Overview
the facilities engineer is responsible for the technical design of the facilities maintenance program and scope, recommends facilities equipment based on efficiency and lifecycle cost, facilities process improvement, and technical analysis for sustainability initiatives and projects. This role drives risk mitigation, asset management, and utilities efficiency, and ensures that facility operations align with safety, security, and business continuity objectives. This role provides engineering support to multiple sites.
Responsibilities
optimize the performance of the electrical power infrastructure, hvac systems, compressed air systems, and fire protection systems, moving towards reliability-centered maintenance.
Implement and manage iot technology to monitor utilities usage and critical systems health in real-time.
Design and test redundancy protocols for critical systems (emergency generators, ups) to ensure zero downtime during power or system failures.
Asset management: in alignment with the managerial team, champion and maintain the capital improvement plan for major building systems.
Lead high-impact facilities improvement projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to engineering standards.
Act as the admin and tech lead for regulatory compliance. Lead internal audits by maintaining rigorous documentation.
Own the cmms platform, using data analytics to identify recurring failure trends and transitioning the department from preventive to predictive maintenance.
Inspection and troubleshooting for: compressed air system, a/c units, swamp coolers, restrooms issues, emergency generator, electrical installations.
Qualifications
minimum qualifications:
bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
3–5 years in industrial facility management or engineering, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
Demonstrated technical background on:
hvac systems
air compressors
electrical installations
fire protection systems
building systems and structures
soft skills: ability to learn quickly, excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills, team oriented, customer oriented, bilingual.
Desired qualifications:
certified facility manager, project management, and electrical, hvac, nfpa certification.
