we are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of liquidity manager.
the jobholder is responsible for supporting liquidity risk management for mexico. Self-reliance and the ability to work independently are essential. The role requires strong analytical skills, clear and concise communication, and the ability to distill complex information into its essential elements. The candidate must also have the capacity to identify errors, apply logical and structured thinking, and manage business as usual and ad hoc processes for hbmx. Initiative and drive are crucial for this position.
main activities:
* ensure accurate and complete preparation of prudential regulation authority (pra) liquidity metrics reports, maintaining high standards of precision and consistency.
* conduct detailed analysis of pra and local liquidity metrics, providing clear explanations for significant movements.
* automate liquidity metrics tools, stress testing files, and related processes.
* embed the internal liquidity adequacy assessment process (ilaap) with proactive review and challenge of key assumptions.
* perform forecasting processes in collaboration with business finance lines.
* provide insights to senior management through management reports and support effective liquidity management with recommendations.
* maintain productive relationships with finance and business teams.
* collaborate with external and internal parties (audit teams, regulators) as needed.
* ensure compliance with operational risk controls according to hsbc and regulatory standards; address issues with regulators when necessary.
* perform other responsibilities as assigned.
requirements
* knowledge of liquidity risk, macroeconomic environment, and banking operations.
* extensive risk management and mitigation experience.
* broad knowledge of financial activities and deliverables.
* deep understanding of banking finance, particularly asset liquidity & cash management, treasury, and risk management.
* knowledge of liquidity management principles.
* strong financial analysis skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, and communicate complex ideas clearly both written and verbally.
* proficiency in english for daily interactions across hsbc group.
* programming skills (python, r, sql).
* excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* ability to identify and mitigate risks and implement controls.
* flexibility to adapt to business needs.
* advanced english proficiency.
