A.duties & responsibilities
1. Responsible for all aspects of production, where applicable process engineering and maintenance.
2. Responsible for the following kpi’sworkforce, cost of quality, overtime, material usage variance, labour efficiency variance.
3. The goal isto deliver best in class scrap and efficiency performance while delivering best in class products to our customers on time.
4. Financial responsibilities for all responsible areas.
5. Support for new capital appropriation from quoting, negotiation, order, evaluation, approval, start-up where applicable
6. Works with plant gm annual operating plan (aop). The plan will include goals to prepare staffing plans and capital requirements.
7. Works with all departments to address quality concerns and delivery issues, implemt muv and efficiency improvements.
8. Where applicable, reviews and approves or rejects all maintenance work orders for in house repairs and maintenance.
9. Participates in customer meetings as required to support new business, new programs, or performance concerns.
10. Supports engineering group in product design reviews and design for manufacturing and assembly.
11. Monitor daily and weekly production schedules based on customer releases.
12. Meet and maintain finished & w.i.p. inventories as set by management.
13. Ensure that finished goods are available to support 100% on time shipments to customers.
14. Ensure production reporting and inventory accuracy by cycle counts.
15. Maximize usage of available systems to increase schedule effectiveness and efficiency of data entry.
16. Must be aware at all times of any deviation from the current schedule, and will take appropriate action to either correct the shortfall, or advise the general manager if the required corrective action exceeds his authority or available resources.
17. Is responsible for ensuring that all parts produced meet the approved “first-off’s”, and will work with q.a. to maximize process capability
18. Is responsible for production efficiency and scrap. They have the authority to stop production until quality issues have been resolved.
19. Will work closely with the human resourceto ensure that personnel with appropriate skills are being hired, appropriate training is being conducted by the ojt’s where applicable, and proper disciplinary actions are taken for unacceptable conduct.
20. Identify unsafe conditions and initiate required work orders and activity to resolve. Ensure the efficient operation of the plant through activities such as planning, installation, maintenance and repair of facility infrastructures including production machinery, electrical and mechanical systems via internal resources or contractor services, where applicable
21. Where applicable, develop and administer an effective preventative maintenance program.
22. Analyze using spc, fmea’s, doe’s, process parameters and co-ordinate the necessary improvement to achieve a capable process.

B.minimum qualifications
1. Engineering degree preferred. (mechanical preferred).
2. 5 years supervisory / management experience in automotive industry.
C.

1. Leadership, organization and supervisory skills with a general understanding of each facet of the business.
2. Computer literacy in microsoft office and project management.
3. Understanding of automotive supplier expectations and requirements.
4. Complete understanding of the companies operating procedures.
5. Understanding of customer specific product, process requirements, product development, and submission requirements.
6. Understanding of lab test equipment and fixtures for dimensional verification.
7. Understanding of quality assurance tools such as spc, 8d problem solving, control plans, doe and dvp & r’s.
8. Understanding of the plastic materials, injection moulding process, assembly processes, and paint processes.
9. Understanding of the correlation between kcc’s and kpc’s.
10. Procedures governing job function.
11. Forms, tags, and labels governing job function.
