about the opportunity
as a software developer - oms at orium, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering, maintaining, and optimizing order management systems (oms) and point of sale (pos) platforms for enterprise retailers across north america and europe. You’ll work in a cloud-native, serverless architecture to ensure seamless integrations, scalable performance, and high reliability. Your work will directly impact digital commerce experiences for global brands.
you will contribute to fluent oms implementations, leveraging modern technology and composable commerce principles, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex retail and fulfillment challenges.

responsibilities
* design, implement, and support scalable solutions using fluent oms and pos platforms.
* write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that aligns with architectural best practices.
* collaborate with designers, product managers, and clients to clarify requirements and timelines.
* create and maintain technical documentation, api specifications, and solution diagrams.
* perform code reviews and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
* monitor and resolve technical issues and support incidents via a ticketing system.
* identify and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities.
* validate features and changes through testing strategies, including regression and automation.
* stay current on emerging technologies and incorporate tools that enhance performance and team workflows.
skills and qualifications
* 3+ years of backend development experience, preferably within commerce or retail tech.
* proficiency in java, node.js, or similar languages; exposure to react is a plus.
* experience with fluent oms or similar order management platforms.
* strong understanding of event-driven architecture and message brokers (e.g., sqs, kafka, rabbitmq).
* familiarity with serverless computing (e.g., aws lambda, dynamodb, step functions).
* experience with graphql, api integrations, and microservices design.
* knowledge of ci/cd processes and tools (e.g., github actions, circleci).
* comfortable working with real-time data, distributed systems, and cloud services.
* team-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in agile environments.
* familiarity with commerce platforms (e.g., newstore, adyen, avalara, commercetools) is a plus.
* fluent in both spanish and english (written and verbal).
* based in mexico.
