The project manager is responsible for managing all aspects of technical data center construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and client relationship skills to drive project success in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
essential functions:
* lead the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of data center construction projects.
* manage, lead, and mentor project teams including assistant project managers, project engineers, and other support staff.
* develop and maintain project budgets, cost controls, and schedules.
* ensure compliance with contract requirements, company standards, and client expectations.
* manage rfi, submittal, and change order processes.
* conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality.
* serve as the primary point of contact for clients, design teams, and stakeholders.
* anticipate and resolve issues related to constructability, logistics, or resources.
* lead project meetings, prepare progress reports, and present updates to senior leadership and clients.
* drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
qualifications:
* bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
* 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction; experience in data center, mission-critical, or mep-intensive projects strongly preferred.
* knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and budgeting.
* familiarity with contracts, rfis, submittals, and project documentation.
* strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
* excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* proficiency in project management software (e.g., procore, primavera p6, bluebeam).
* ability to workat project sites fulltime and travel nationally for project oversight and client meetings.
