This role manages receiving processes, vendor delivery performance, material handling standards, and warehouse organization for incoming goods. The inbound manager also leads the receiving team, develops procedures, and drives accuracy to support production efficiency and inventory integrity.this is a key leadership role responsible for creating a world-class inbound operation that supports nysonian's rapid growth and high standards.key responsibilitiesinbound operations leadershipoversee daily inbound operations, including receiving, unloading, inspection, labeling, and put-away of materials.ensure accurate and timely processing of all incoming shipments (raw materials, components, mro items, packaging, etc.).develop and enforce standardized receiving procedures, documentation, and workflows.coordinate scheduling of inbound deliveries to optimize dock efficiency.team management & developmentlead, train, and develop the inbound team (receivers, material handlers, forklift operators).conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action plans when required.promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.inventory accuracy & data integritymonitor and improve accuracy of receiving entries within erp/wms systems.ensure proper labeling, bin assignment, and identification of materials.investigate and resolve discrepancies such as shortages, damages, or mismatches with purchase orders.support cycle counts, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for inaccuracies.vendor & supply chain coordinationcommunicate with purchasing, suppliers, carriers, and customs brokers regarding delivery schedules, documentation, and receiving issues.track supplier delivery performance (otd, accuracy, damages) and escalate recurring issues.collaborate with import/export and procurement teams to ensure compliance with documentation requirements.warehouse organization & optimizationmaintain organized and efficient inbound storage and staging areas.implement 5s, space utilization improvements, and material-flow optimization projects.ensure inbound processes consistently support production schedules and material availability.safety & complianceensure strict adherence to safety policies, forklift operation standards, and use of ppe.monitor receiving docks and equipment for safe operation and maintenance needs.drive compliance with internal quality procedures and regulatory requirements.reporting & kpistrack and report inbound metrics such as receiving accuracy, dock-to-stock time, supplier performance, and workflow efficiency.provide daily/weekly updates to management and support strategic planning.identify improvement opportunities and lead related initiatives.qualificationseducation & experiencebachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering, or related field preferred.3–5 years of inbound or warehouse leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing.strong understanding of receiving processes, material handling, and inventory control.experience using erp or wms systems (oracle, sap, netsuite, etc.).skills & competenciesstrong leadership and people-management skills.excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.data-driven decision-making and strong analytical skills.ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.knowledge of import documentation, customs processes, or international shipping is a plus.proficiency with microsoft excel and reporting tools.what nysonian offersopportunity to shape a growing inbound logistics operation.a collaborative environment focused on innovation and operational excellence.professional development and career growth.competitive compensation and benefits.
