*what you will do?*
- implement product engineering initiatives efficiently, under corporate policies, procedures and specifications, to produce within the parameters of quality and target cost.
- support production by assessing product engineering issues of diverse scope that arise on the production line.
- collaborate with all departments of the plant to find the root cause and solution of problems related to design, quality, suppliers, product or process.
- work with global design team to resolve design related issues.
- assist in product launches and gathering information for the product development process.
- propose, evaluate and implement product improvements.
*how you will do it*:
- create detailed product functional specifications using inputs from sales, product management, and the voice of the customer.
- determine timelines and budgets for completion of engineering tasks within the product development process.
- develop product design concepts, lead prototype generation, and coordinate design and product verification testing.
- evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- provide mentorship to new and/or less experienced co-workers.
*what we look for*:
- bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- 4+ years' experience in design, product development or r&d.
- academic and experienced based understanding of fundamental engineering theories, mathematics, mechanics, and physical science concepts to the job.
- ability to perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on difficult problems.
- strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
- effective and professional communication with the ability to write reports and convey detailed technical information.
*preferred*:
- experience with a stage-gate product development process.
- functional knowledge of process methods and tools such as dfmea, dvp&r, doe, risk analysis.
- ability for occasional travel.
