This role will report directly to the director plant manager. The cip black belt specialist will serve as a lean and continuous improvement expert, responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining ci practices across the site. This role will facilitate improvement projects, coach teams, and help embed a lean mindset throughout the organization to deliver measurable business results in safety, quality, delivery and cost. This role will lead lean and continuous improvement (ci) initiatives that will set the foundation for operational excellence, efficiency, and a culture of continuous learning. Building ci capabilities and culture across all levels. Develop opex strategies facilitate kaizen events, root cause analysis, and value stream mapping session to identify and remove waste. Lead cross-functional ci projects aligned with business priorities and operational performance goals. Drive engagement with continuous improvement through employee training and “train-the-trainer” programs. Measure progress against the site’s business area ci plan and ensure alignment with company standards. Share best practices across other facilities and platforms to drive consistency and knowledge transfer. Quantify, validate, and report improvement results and savings to ensure sustainability. Use lean tools such as 5 why’s, ishikawa diagrams, control charts, pareto analysis, and process mapping. Partner closely with operations, engineering, and leadership to ensure ci plans deliver measurable results. Preferred experience and skills: bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred. Six sigma black belt, green belt or lean certification required. 8-10 years of relevant experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proven record of facilitating cross-functional improvement projects and delivering results. Strong change management experience and ability to influence without authority. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with ms office suite (excel and powerpoint in particular); minitab experience preferred. Experience using data visualization and ci reporting tools fluency in english required.
