Sr material financial analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis and strategic support within a manufacturing environment, often involving budgeting, cost variance analysis, and reporting to guide financial decision-making
functions
* analyze, report, and explain variances in material costs, work orders, and other operational areas.
* support the monthly/ annual fcst / budget process and long-term financial forecasts, often working closely with the fp&a manager, operations and plant controllers.
* prepare and present detailed financial reports, ad-hoc reports, and performance metrics to management
* monitor and control cost variances to help identify areas for cost optimization.
* build and maintain financial models and forecasts to predict future financial performance.
* perform reconciliations related to material and other financial data.
* provide financial insights and analysis for strategic decision-making and be involved in the review of projects and proposals.
requirements
* bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; an mba is often preferred.
* proven experience in financial analysis, with a focus on cost accounting, variance analysis, and budgeting.
* advanced proficiency in microsoft excel and erp financial/data management systems is essential.
* strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data.
* excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present to management
