Summary/objective:
as a database administrator at tideworks and in carrix it, you will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of information databases used to operate applications, solutions, and systems. In your role, you will partner with application and infrastructure teams to ensure that database performance is not hindered, and performance standards adhere to service level agreements. As part of your day-to-day work, you will implement best practices to meet technical needs and resolve issues.

* review data backups daily and take corrective action in case of failures.
* implement and maintain databases as needed to meet client demands.
* work closely with developers to ensure their technical needs are met.
* help monitor databases and act on alerts resulting from system issues.
* prepare training, provide information, and resolve technical issues.
* partner with development teams to design data management and governance protocols and to develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans.
* design, configure, implement, and administer all databases for respective parties.
* identify all issues related to database systems to ensure that systems are online and without service interruption.

qualifications:
* bachelor’s degree in computer or information science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, database administration, or a related field.
* 2+ years’ relevant experience in technology systems and database administration, design and support or equivalent work experience in an enterprise environment.
* interest in technology and technical components along with working on technical solutions to problems.
* interest in and basic knowledge of technical administrator methodologies preferred.
* knowledge of and experience writing sql queries preferred.
* experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration in a multiple platform environment a plus.
