Environmental sustainability and safety leader
we are seeking an exceptional environmental sustainability and safety leader to join our organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our ehs&s management system, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
main responsibilities:
- develop and maintain an ehs&s management system aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- lead process safety programs, including hazop studies, process hazard analysis pha, and compliance audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous compliance.
- collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for ensuring regulatory compliance with semarnat, profepa, stps, and protección civil, minimizing risks and promoting a culture of safety.
- coordinate emergency response plans, evacuation drills, and training programs for teams, ensuring preparedness and minimizing the risk of accidents.
- supervise the proper management of hazardous waste, adhering to nom-052-semarnat and other applicable regulations, to prevent environmental harm and promote sustainability.
- promote a safety-first culture through awareness campaigns, incident investigations (ra, rca, 5 whys), and corrective actions to minimize risks and improve performance.
- manage physical security in coordination with the asset security department to safeguard facilities and assets.
- monitor and report on key performance indicators (kpis) for the ehs&s department, tracking progress and making data-driven decisions.
requirements:
- a degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- at least 5 years of experience in a similar position within the chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical sector, with a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and conducting regulatory audits.
- advanced english language skills to facilitate communication and collaboration with international partners and stakeholders.
- experience with management systems such as iso and comprehensive responsibility is highly desirable.
