position overview
the applications engineer plays a key role in supporting customers with dispensing technologies and processes. This role involves configuring and programming dispensing machines, conducting training, and performing experiments in the demo lab. The applications engineer also provides guidance to field service engineers, provide remote assistance, and contributes to sales efforts through technical expertise. The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-centric, and eager to travel and grow in a high-tech environment.
key responsibilities
* provides application support for dispensing processes across various customer sites
* conducts customer training sessions and technical workshops
* configures and programs dispensing machines for specific applications
* develops and test processes in the demo lab, including simulations and cycle time calculations
* supports field service engineers by providing technical guidance and troubleshooting
* offers remote support via phone and email from the office
* assists sales teams with technical insights and demonstrations
* maintains demo room equipment and ensure readiness for customer visits
* generates customer reports and weekly activity summaries
* contributes to regional product feedback and market-specific application insights
experience and qualifications
* bachelor's degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, automation, or a related field
* hands-on experience with dispensing processes such as conformal coating, rtv staking, glue, underfill, and potting
* two to three years of related technical support and/or direct experience with fluid dispensing systems and process optimization required
* strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* proficiency in english as a working language is required; ability to speak spanish or chinese is a plus
* ability to read and use electrical schematics for troubleshooting
* willingness to travel and a strong sense of customer service
