team overview

reporting to the americas head of benefits, this position is primarily responsible for all strategic aspects of the blackrock health and wellness benefits program in latin america (latam) and canada (can).

*responsibilities*:

- assist with the development and ongoing review of the health benefits offerings in latam and can
- support the design and development of benefit policies, plans and programs that are linked to blackrock’s strategic objectives
- work with benefit brokers to support one-off project management, annual renewal activities, and implementations
- assist in managing relationships with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- maintain and oversee project logs which reflect ongoing projects and initiatives along with the status of each
- assist with the development of employee communications regarding benefit programs, procedures, and disclosures
- partner with internal stakeholders including regional counterparts, corporate strategy, legal, tax, procurement, and communications to accomplish initiatives
- assist with the annual renewals of all the latam countries and can including assist with obtaining approvals for renewals, managing the execution of renewal decisions with our benefit administration vendor, implementation of benefits changes, coordinating communications materials and events
- monitor programs to ensure compliance with internal guidelines and country regulatory requirements

qualifications:

- 3-5 years of experience preferred working within a human resources benefits function demonstrating expertise in benefits strategy, design, compliance, and operations
- must possess knowledge of human resources operations in a global organization
- solid understanding of the components of benefit programs as well as the ability to assist with the design and implementation of innovative programs within a collaborative environment
- strong project management and organization skills
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform detailed analysis of problems and identify resolutions; understands when and how to escalate issues to manage risk
- advanced computer literacy: advanced microsoft office and excel skills a requirement
- results-oriented; successfully handles multiple tasks, takes initiative to improve his/her own performance, works intensely towards extremely challenging goals and persists in the face of obstacles or setbacks while maintaining quality of work
- ability to develop relationships with people at all levels of the organization and a broad base of stakeholders
- strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client service
- able to thrive in a global and/or virtual work environment where teams may be spread amongst multiple locations
- ability to handle confidential information
- strong interest in and knowledge of benefits, retirement, and well-being leading practices
- must be fluent in english and spanish, portuguese is a plus
