you execute the regulatory affairs strategy for your respective category or categories and geographical area using your technical and regulatory knowledge. You ensure our policies, regulatory programs and requirements of our portfolio are carried out.


how you will contribute

you will deliver on the regulatory affairs strategy and compliance agenda and work with cross-functional stakeholders to assess regulatory business risks and opportunities. You will provide regulatory affairs expertise for technical regulatory developments and help in responses to challenges and crisis management. In this role, you will ensure that ingredients, product composition, claims and labeling compliance are within applicable regulations and company policies. In addition, you will provide guidance to stakeholders on developments in regulatory affairs, support regulatory impact assessments and change management, help develop regulatory affairs tools, and further develop your knowledge of regulatory, science and nutrition risks and opportunities in your market.

role description

this position is based in mexico, responsible for assuring compliance for mx market. It is desirable to have basic knowledge of us regulations. Reporting directly to regulatory candies coordinator in mexico. This role requires ensuring all projects and regulatory activities are executed and delivered efficiently, in a timely manner, and fully compliant with applicable regulations. Position will have no direct reports.


main responsibilities

* lead activities for assuring regulatory compliance for mexico candies projects, interacting with, supporting and alerting the category about regulatory issues and impacts.
* identify and escalate risks and issues to the regulatory leadership team and the business, driving potential resolutions as needed.
* develop tools to reduce complexity, simplify and harmonize processes with the ra team and regulatory center.
* take personal responsibility for growth, drive team collaboration, and find new, improved, and simpler ways to work.
* plan and execute work plans and maintain strong relationships with r&d, marketing, and legal teams.
* interact with scientific affairs to provide regulatory perspective for mx emerging and applicable regulations. Execute daily tactical regulatory activities, including claims documentation, formula compliance, la regulation knowledge and specification compliance.


role requirements

* 1–2 years of experience in regulatory or related field (quality, r&d) at a global food manufacturer.
* bachelor’s or equivalent in a relevant field (food science, nutrition or food engineering).
* knowledge of mexican regulations.
* strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to advancing regulatory compliance and reducing complexity.
* ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders.
* proficient in english and spanish.
