as a materials planning manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, storage, control, and distribution of materials to support production operations. Your role will focus on ensuring timely material availability, optimizing inventory levels, and driving continuous improvement across supply chain processes.
about the job:
* develop and implement materials planning strategies to support production schedules.
* forecast material requirements based on demand and market trends.
* coordinate with suppliers and logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
* oversee inventory control to prevent shortages and excess stock.
* implement cycle counting programs to maintain inventory accuracy.
* lead, coach, and evaluate a team of warehouse and materials staff.
* collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teams.
* identify cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.
* monitor and report on key kpis and budget performance.
about you:
* bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, industrial engineering, or related field.
* 5–7 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or logistics within manufacturing.
* minimum of 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
* experience with inventory control systems and cycle counting programs.
* proficiency in erp systems (sap, oracle, or similar).
* strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
* fluent in english and spanish (written and verbal).
* experience in a mid-sized industrial company or plant in mexico preferred.
