our 2.47-acre property features four beautifully designed houses, 17 guest rooms, a pool, private cenote, and a signature workshop pavilion.
with the ability to host up to 50 onsite and expand to 150 through partnerships with neighboring properties, dora offers flexibility for gatherings of all scales.

as dora enters its next chapter of growth, we are seeking a visionary and operationally excellent general manager to join our leadership team and help take this unique venue — and the transformative work it supports — to the global stage.
*the role*
this is a director-level position — ideal for someone ready to run a complex, soulful, and evolving hospitality business.
you'll oversee day-to-day operations and long-term strategy across all departments, act as a culture-holder, and collaborate closely with ownership on growth, profitability, and guest experience.
this is not just a hotel gm role.
it's a blend of visionary leadership, operational excellence, team development, legal coordination, and creative entrepreneurship.
*core responsibilities*

manage all core departments: hosting, kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance, wellness, and guest services create and implement sops, team structures, and internal communication systems supervise department leads and ensure clarity, accountability, and alignment across the board
*strategic projects: kitchen & maintenance*
lead strategic evolution of the culinary department — including team growth, sourcing systems, menu development, and cost control
oversee special infrastructure and maintenance projects (solar, water, renovations, repairs) with an eye for sustainability and quality ensure departments are scalable, efficient, and aligned with retreat needs and rhythms
business growth & revenue innovation identify and launch new revenue streams on-site (e.g. café/bar, boutique, spa, coworking memberships) oversee profitability and team management of all active points of sale optimize guest experience while increasing on-site spend and financial sustainability sales & retreat booking oversight oversee the full sales pipeline for retreat bookings, from inquiry to contract host site visits, build relationships with aligned leaders, and manage the retreat calendar coordinate with the hosting team to ensure sales expectations are fully delivered on-site financial accountability & coordination collaborate with cfo/accounting team on budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and cost tracking monitor departmental spending and ensure profitability across operations present monthly performance updates and long-term planning strategies to ownership legal, compliance & risk management ensure full compliance with local, state, and national regulations (permits, lodging laws, labor, health & safety) manage renewals for required licenses (protección civil, stps, cofepris, hacienda, etc.) Coordinate with legal advisors on contracts, waivers, insurance, and regulatory issues oversee all emergency and safety protocols — from first aid to severe weather or guest incidents team leadership & culture lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management across departments create and sustain a workplace culture that is motivated, grounded, values-led, and communicative serve as a mentor and cultural anchor — modeling strong leadership with care global visibility & strategic partnerships build long-term relationships with aligned retreat leaders — cultivating loyalty and repeat bookings position dora on the global stage by attracting visionary collaborators, facilitators, and brands represent dora in wellness, hospitality, and leadership networks — both locally and internationally explore strategic alliances, creative partnerships, or curated programs that align with dora's growth you might be a fit if you: have 5+ years of experience in retreat, eco-hospitality, or boutique hotel leadersh
