application engineer in sap qm for a world leading pharmaceutical company which operates in over 100 countries and is head quartered in the united kingdom. The candidate is expected to collaborate with a team of functional consultants for a large sap support and maintenance project, spanning several sap landscapes across continents.
responsibilities
 * as a functional consultant, responsible for resolving sap issues reported by business users and delivering enhancements as required by the business users.
 * complete all tasks assigned by the team lead and project manager.
 * review solutions designed by team members and propose improvements.
 * proactively work with business users to identify and resolve recurring issues.
 * own certain niche processes within broader domain areas e.g. interfacing to 3rd party systems like gqclims, sap global batch traceability, 3pl, etc.
mandatory requirements
 * 3+ years of experience with in-depth functional understanding for qm and expert knowledge in configuration and maintenance of sap systems.
 * experience in ecc and s4 systems.
 * ability to understand business requirements from business users and prepare and review functional specifications.
 * good understanding of integration of sap modules in end-to-end business processes.
 * ability to work in large and diverse teams.
 * awareness of release governance processes and experience in working on any incident management tool.
 * good communication and interpersonal skills.
 * well versed in english and spanish. Good spoken and written skills.
 * proactive approach to problem solving.
desirable requirements
 * functional understanding of pm and/or pp configuration and maintenance of sap.
 * good understanding of business processes in the life sciences/pharmaceutical domain.
 * exposure to highly customized sap environments and working on interfaces with non sap systems.
 * understanding of itil processes and application life cycle management.
 * exposure to run sap (solution manager) methodologies.
 * good understanding of gxp and sox requirements. Experience in a validated environment.
 * experience with various estimation techniques as needed.
