*the role*
the successful person will become a member of our hardworking and committed team who are responsible for undertaking planned & reactive breakdown maintenance work across our process plant.
you will be responsible for:
- optimising the plant utilisation through safety conscious, methodical and practical mechanical work practices, without jeopardising end-product quality or employee safety
- troubleshooting and maintaining a variety of pumps, pipework and valves associated with a nickel refinery
- fostering a good team environment with an ability to train apprentices and pass on your extensive knowledge
- understanding the broader production and maintenance strategies through regular and ongoing planned maintenance of the plant in your area
- ensuring continued compliance with best practice works orders and safety documentation and making suggestions for improvement
*about you*
this role would suit a self-driven mechanical fitter with previous experience working in a continuously operating process plant who is looking for job security and career opportunities.
you will also have:
- australian recognised mechanical trade qualification (essential)
- a current and valid manual australian driver's licence (essential)
- proven experience with centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
- proven experience working with all types of fixed plant piping, valves, and laser alignment
- previous autoclave (hpal) experience (desirable)
- previous experience working with area permit systems; safe work instructions and hazard identification
- strong communication skills & ability to clearly communicate over a two-way radio
- demonstrated trouble shooting and problem-solving abilities.
