the technical sales engineer promotes valvoline's value proposition based on technical advantages of the product and the value added by b2b sales platform services. Provides specialized technical-commercial training to the commercial team, distributor's sales forces and key customers. Offers specialized technical support to b2b key accounts (agricultural fleets, medium/large transportation fleets, ports and industry, vehicle dealers). Activities include maintenance programs assessment, product recommendations, operative cost optimization, product claims, field oil analysis, and delivering conferences/technical talks at specialty forums (shows, chambers, associations). responsibilities
* deliver technical/commercial training to customers and valvoline channel partners, increasing technical understanding of product lines and market differentiation. Includes trade shows, chambers, associations, valvoline events (vesf).
* support sales team in customer-facing situations, elucidating the technical benefits of valvoline products to secure existing and new business.
* work directly with heavy-duty key customers to solve issues, handle product claims, and recommend valvoline products per application and oem guidelines to improve profitability.
* manage relationship with the lab services provider; administer and interpret data from used oil sample testing and explain technical issues/solutions to customers and sales reps.
* support valvoline elite sales force by visiting and training pipeline prospects to ensure market share growth across fleets.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or science; disciplines may include mechanical, mining, automotive, agriculture, chemical engineering; material science, chemistry, statistics.
* minimum 3+ years in engineering or related fields.
* experience in lubricants industry, technical/field service and equipment; knowledge of on-highway and off-highway applications (sugar mills, ports, industries).
* experience in technical sales trainings; familiarity with engines and vehicle systems (filtration, lubrication).
* icml – lubrication technician or equivalent (a plus); familiarity with engine/transmission hardware and maintenance requirements.
* strong communication, persuasion, and collaborative skills; knowledge of oil qualification/licensing programs (api, acea, nlgi, gl, aw).
* knowledge of oil formulation chemistry; engine/transmission performance testing; excel and powerpoint.
* willing to travel up to 80% with frequent overnights; residency in specified countries.
