The master black belt / lean manufacturing manager is responsible for identifying, managing, and delivering high-impact initiatives that drive cost reduction, improve operational performance, and support revenue growth. This role will lead site wide six sigma deployment and lean transformation, while developing a pipeline of internal talent through structured belt certification programs (white, yellow, green, and black belt). This individual must be a strategic thinker and hands-on leader capable of coaching, training, and executing complex kaizen and transformation projects across all areas of the operation.
responsibilities
- identify and prioritize operational and business transformation projects that align with cost, quality, delivery, and revenue improvement goals.
* lead six sigma waves and certification programs from white to black belt, ensuring capability building across functions.
* coach and mentor belt candidates and high-performance teams to ensure effective project execution and sustainment of improvements.
* plan, lead, and facilitate kaizen events focused on waste elimination, cycle time reduction, and productivity gains.
* develop and manage project pipelines using dmaic and lean methodologies; track financial impact and project roi.
* collaborate with functional leaders in manufacturing, materials, quality, engineering, and maintenance to implement improvements.
* drive cultural change toward continuous improvement and data-driven decision making.
* establish governance structure to monitor project progress, issue resolution, and sustainment.
* standardize kpis and performance metrics to measure lean maturity and business impact.
qualifications
- 8- 10 years of experience in lean manufacturing, six sigma, or operational excellence in a manufacturing environment.
* certified six sigma master black belt or black belt with demonstrated coaching experience.
* proven experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives and belt certification programs.
* strong facilitation and training skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
* expertise in dmaic, kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work, and visual management.
* bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
* master’s degree or mba.
* background in industry 4.0, data analytics, or digital transformation tools.
