job purpose
to staff a variety of courses each semester in the field of art history. Part time faculty may instruct one or more introductory or period courses each semester on an “as needed” basis.
part-time faculty are expected to teach a specified course(s); prepare course materials; provide support and guidance to students; and report grades.
all classes are taught in person at the university of scranton.
additional skills required
evidence of well-rounded (e.g., multiple historical periods) teaching experience in art history
a master of arts degree in art history is required.
preferred education
a ph.d. or abd in art history is preferred.
minimum job experience requirements
at least two years previous teaching experience and a willingness to be flexible in cases of unanticipated course scheduling needs and changes.
