Electronics manufacturing engineer job
this is an opportunity to join a leading manufacturing facility as an electronics manufacturing engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery.
key responsibilities include:
* evaluating new manufacturing and control technologies and adapting them into specifications as appropriate
* confirming control system functionality, including appropriate safety compliance, by designing and/or executing test procedures
* preparing and/or reviewing electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls drawings for equipment purchases; collaborating with related engineering teams to evaluate components, materials, and suppliers
* managing supplier development and delivery
* keeping equipment operating and improving equipment uptime by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; calling for repairs; and implementing process improvements
* maintaining project documents using approved methodology, tools, and templates
* maintaining plc documentation upon receipt from equipment suppliers and an archive of plc programs and machine controls drawings in electronic format
* implementing and maintaining data collection system from plant floor processing equipment
* participating in pfmea analysis and as a knowledge leader for lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement projects
* identifying and implementing error-proofing requirements throughout the production process
* identifying and planning for process impact(s) because of engineering and launch changes
required skills and qualifications include:
* bachelor's degree in engineering, it, or related fields
* years of experience: 3+ year experience as a manufacturing/controls engineer in automotive manufacturing or assembly facility
* technical competence with it and control systems; program and troubleshoot machine controls (siemens-step 7; allen bradley-ladder logic)
* ability to diagnose problems with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems interfacing with electrical and electronic systems
* understanding of and experienced in program launch process (including apqp; pfmea; control plans; plant layout; tooling and equipment design, development and implementation; facility deployment; etc.)
* strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain attention to critical details and deadlines
* skilled in root-cause based problem solving tasks to ensure that abnormalities, when observed, are acted upon to resolve root-causes
* working knowledge of autocad
* ability to learn new technologies
* excellent verbal and written communication skills to conduct training, interact and collaborate effectively with leadership, peers, sales, vendors, plant team members, etc.
