Compensation Range
$120,000 - $150,000 per year plus bonus (US Currency)
Griffith Foods is hiring a Global Purchasing Category Manager to be responsible for developing and implementing global category strategies by following a detailed sourcing process that incorporates sustainability, covering the commodities category. This is your opportunity to establish, monitor, and impact the Operating Plan budget, Purchase Price Variance, coverage performance, and others.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for working with the local and regional buyers on the execution of the global strategies previously agreed with the Griffith Purchasing Council.
- Strategic and Sustainable Sourcing.
- Be the primary contact for market expertise in commodities, understanding market drivers and communicating risk/opportunity on positions.
- Develop costs for budgeting purposes in conjunction with each region.
- Identifying opportunities to standardize global suppliers around the world.
- Accountability of the integral coverage performance of commodities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work effectively across geography and functions to influence from the top to the bottom of an organization.
- Enjoy strategy and project execution related to sourcing activities on direct materials.
- Like to develop and execute commodity positions with suppliers in accordance with business volumes and pricing structures.
- Work extensively with the local and regional teams and frequent contacts with internal global functional leaders/teams, region purchasing leaders/teams, and regional functional teams.
- Have cross‑functional project management skills.
- Enjoy influencing across multiple regions to gain alignment on strategies developed.
- Have effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
Qualified Candidates Will Have
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field.
- 7 years' experience in Category Management and Commodities.
- Proficient in English.
- Willing to travel up to 30% as required for project collaboration and knowledge exchange.
What Will Set You Apart
- Master's degree.
- Able to speak 2 or more languages.
- Strong working knowledge of MRP systems.
- Professional certification such as CPIM/APICS/CPM/CIPS.
