your role and responsibilities
*database administration*: install, configure, and maintain either oracle and/or postgresql, and ms-sql databases ; perform database backups, restores, and recoveries ; monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization techniques ;ensure database security, integrity, and availability ; implement and maintain database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions
analyze database performance metrics and identify areas for improvement ;implement indexing, caching, and other optimization techniques; optimize database configuration, memory allocation, and resource utilization
- troubleshoot and resolve performance issues
collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, qa, and operations ; communicate database design, implementation, and performance metrics to stakeholders; provide training and support to junior team members ;participate in database design reviews and ensure compliance with industry best practices
required technical and professional expertise
strong understanding of database architecture, design, and performance tuning ;
proficiency in sql, pl/sql, t-sql, and other database programming languages ;
experience with database replicating, and high-availability solutions
confirm if they can perform a dba role independently with mínimal supervision.
the skills required are that of a typical dba who can troubleshoot, administer the planned tasks as well as be on call when needed to support escalated issues
