At randstad, a global leader in recruitment and hr services, we are currently looking for the next sourcing manager to join the global purchasing office of a major international retail company. Responsibilities: execute national sourcing strategies focused on cost optimization and product availability, particularly in hard home and soft home categories. Develop and manage relationships with suppliers across mexico and latin america, with an emphasis on exports to the united states and canada, ensuring favorable commercial terms. Identify and onboard new suppliers in mexico, latam, and nearby regions (nearshoring), focusing on high-turnover products for the off-price retail segment. Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements with strategic suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, optimal payment terms, and compliance with delivery deadlines, quality standards, production capabilities, and ethical practices. Monitor market trends and sourcing opportunities to ensure a competitive product portfolio aligned with the needs of the u.s. and canadian markets. Attend trade shows and international events to identify new sourcing opportunities and strengthen the supplier network. Track purchase orders and delivery timelines, closely collaborating with the logistics team to coordinate exports from mexico to the u.s. and canada. Prepare reports and work alongside the sourcing director on performance tracking, risk assessments, and improvement strategies. Manage export documentation (certificates, technical data sheets, compliance regulations), ensuring alignment with destination country requirements. Support the future development of new categories such as apparel and footwear, scouting suppliers with sufficient capacity and flexibility. Skills and competencies: advanced negotiation skills with national suppliers. Knowledge of international trade, tariffs, and import/export logistics (priority on export processes). Experience working with multicultural teams across multiple time zones. Proficiency in sourcing and procurement systems (e.g., sap, oracle, plm, gep). Effective communication in international business environments. Previous experience or understanding of the off-price retail model is a strong plus. Requirements: bachelor’s degree in business administration, international business, industrial engineering, or related fields. Minimum of 5 years of experience in national sourcing. Mandatory experience in retail procurement of home products (e.g., ceramics, seasonal decor, garden decorations, glassware, textiles, pillows), footwear, and/or apparel. Proven experience negotiating with local manufacturers and distributors. Solid understanding of north american export regulations and procedures. Advanced conversational english (mandatory).
