KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons that develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
2. Develop annual, semester, and weekly plans aligned with curriculum requirements, learning objectives, and school standards.
3. Create engaging learning experiences that promote language acquisition, communication, critical thinking, and creativity.
4. Develop students' grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading comprehension, and written communication skills.
5. Foster confidence in oral communication through discussions, presentations, debates, and collaborative learning activities.
6. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and support students at varying levels of English proficiency.
7. Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including projects, presentations, written assignments, examinations, and formative assessments.
8. Provide timely and constructive feedback that supports student growth and continuous improvement.
9. Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes engagement, collaboration, and academic excellence.
10. Integrate technology, digital resources, and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
11. Monitor student wellbeing, progress, and behaviour, communicating proactively with school leadership and families when appropriate.
12. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum development, and whole-school initiatives.
13. Participate actively in school events, extracurricular activities, professional development opportunities, and the wider life of the school.
14. Promote and model the values of respect, responsibility, empathy, honesty, citizenship, and lifelong learning.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
15. A Bachelor's Degree in English, English Language Teaching, Linguistics, Education, Modern Languages, or a related field.
16. A recognised teaching qualification or pedagogical training.
17. At least 2 years of teaching experience working with Secondary and/or High School students.
18. Native or near-native English proficiency.
19. Strong knowledge of English language acquisition, literacy development, and effective instructional practices.
20. Experience designing engaging and student-centred learning experiences that support language development.
21. Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills.
22. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
23. A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous professional development.
24. Proficiency with educational technology, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and digital learning platforms.
25. A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and holistic student development.
