auditor – freight payment and audit
reports to: manager – freight payment and audit
location: monterrey, nl, méxico
work schedule: full-time, hybrid monday through friday 8:00 am‐5:00 pm with 1‐hour break. Flexibility available based on coverage.
responsibilities
* enter carrier freight bills
* audit carrier freight bills
* investigate and respond to billing issues/inquiries
* understand ltl carrier pricing, tariffs, accessorial charges, and reasons invoices fail audit
* understand truckload carrier pricing and reasons invoices fail audit
* prepare and analyze data to manage carrier payables
* perform clerical and office work needed, including answering phone calls and operating general office equipment
* correspond with internal and external teams to ensure timely and accurate payment to carriers
* identify reasons invoices fail audit and resolve root causes with carriers or internal teams
* ensure all customer invoices are processed successfully and with accurate charges
* effectively manage invoice work queues to ensure all invoices are processed and paid to carriers and billed to clients within 90 days of delivery
qualifications
* bi‐lingual in english/spanish with proficiency for verbal and written communication
* ability to read, analyze, and interpret freight payment procedures and carrier pricing contracts
* understanding of ltl and truckload transportation industry and carrier pricing, invoice details
* strong attention to detail and analytical/problem‐solving skills
* excellent communication and organizational skills
* ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and collaborate within a team environment
* experience with otm, mercury gate, excel, zendesk, teams, and outlook
* experience with freight rating and accessorial understanding and discrepancy resolution
* previous accounts payable experience, preferably processing carriers, invoices, and payments
