Project engineer sr (industrial engineer)

opportunity basic function
under the supervision of the project specialist /cic, this position is responsible for implementing adequate manufacturing processes and continuous improvement projects aimed to achieve efficiency and productivity, reduce waste and cost. Improve working conditions using engineering techniques, update standard times for all activities on the production areas, perform 5s audits, and follow up on kos savings.
specific responsibilities
* develop activities such as cycle time reduction, worker effort reduction, inventory reduction, and floor improvement to enhance work conditions and eliminate waste.
* follow up on activities to achieve cycle time reduction, worker effort reduction, inventory reduction, and floor improvement using the 7 waste reduction forms.
* analyze processes to determine appropriate work conditions related to space, layouts, lighting, breaks, manpower, tools, and equipment.
* support activities to complete time studies and update slip weight, glaze weight, fired weight, and pack weight in both plants to determine the cost of each product.
* support activities during kos events and assist all teams with methodology application.
* maintain standard work studies updated to no more than one year old.
* maintain an updated and standardized layered process audit.
* follow up to achieve kos savings goals, report savings on a monthly basis, and create a new list each year.
* provide support to all areas in the plant on structural fabrication to improve productivity, safety, and quality (kaizen team).
* comply with the health and safety roles and responsibilities established for this position.
skills/requirements
education: preference bachelor degree in engineering.
experience: preference five years of related experience.
formation: preference must have the ability to understand sap and vis systems, standard cost, and bom structure. Bilingual (english & spanish) is required. Lean tools knowledge.
