Manager, commodity management & sourcing (professional services)
as a senior manager, commodity management & sourcing (professional services), you will lead strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier performance across key categories including hr, ehs, engineering, legal services, and marketing. Your leadership will empower cross-functional teams, drive operational excellence, and deliver measurable business impact. This role is ideal for someone passionate about developing high-performing teams and shaping sourcing strategies that support carrier’s global success.
key responsibilities
* providing strategic leadership and oversight for assigned commodities to maximize business value
* leading and mentoring cross-functional sourcing teams to achieve operational and financial goals
* conducting operational and spend analysis, and executing annual sourcing strategies
* driving supplier negotiations, performance management, and operational support
* awarding contracts within spending limits and identifying new qualified sources of supply
* partnering with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and improve strategies
* analyzing supplier operations to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery performance
* developing strategic plans for commodities or key suppliers
* managing relationships with one or more strategic accounts within assigned commodities
* leading the sourcing process from rfq to contract signature
* ensuring supplier performance meets delivery, quality, and cost expectations

as a minimum you must have
* bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in global commodity management or business
* proven experience in professional services categories including hr, ehs, engineering, legal services, and marketing
* strong communication skills and business acumen
* proven ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams
* demonstrated success in influencing global stakeholders and driving results
nice to have
* mba or advanced degree
* consultancy and services procurement experience
* experience resolving complex problems with both tangible and intangible variables
