elevate the quality and reliability of materials, components, and outsourced products supplied to our manufacturing facility.
this role entails supplier qualification, process audits, incoming material inspection systems, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure suppliers meet company standards for construction fasteners such as nails, screws, and anchors.
* key responsibilities:
* assess, qualify, and develop new suppliers according to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* conduct supplier audits and process capability assessments to ensure adherence to quality, process control, and manufacturing consistency.
* maintain an approved supplier list (asl) and monitor supplier performance metrics (ppm, otd, ncrs, etc.).
* define and implement incoming inspection plans, sampling procedures, and testing methods for raw materials, coatings, and packaging.
* investigate and resolve supplier-related non-conformances using structured problem-solving tools (8d, 5-why, ishikawa).
* review and approve supplier ppap submissions, fai, and control plans.
* collaborate with suppliers to drive process improvements, defect reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
* support lean and six sigma projects targeting quality improvement and waste reduction across the supply base.
* provide technical guidance to suppliers regarding specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing standards related to fasteners and anchors.
* work collaboratively with engineering, purchasing, and production teams to ensure design for manufacturability and quality alignment.
* ensure supplier compliance with iso 9001, iatf 16949, and relevant astm or din standards for fasteners.
* maintain accurate documentation of audits, corrective actions, and supplier performance records.
