We are seeking a junior quality engineer to support quality assurance activities in welding and stamping operations within the automotive/manufacturing environment.
this role will focus on monitoring weld quality, supporting problem-solving activities, and driving continuous improvement to meet customer and internal quality requirements.
key responsibilities
- support quality control in welding and stamping processes
- monitor weld quality (visual, dimensional, destructive tests)
- assist with root cause analysis (8d, 5 why, fishbone)
- track and report kpis (ftq, ppm, scrap, rework)
- participate in lpas and internal audits
- support apqp documentation (pfmea, control plan, process flow)
- help implement corrective and preventive actions
- collaborate with production and engineering teams requirements
- bachelor's degree in engineering
- 2-3 years of experience (internships welcome)
- basic knowledge of mig and/or spot welding
- familiarity with iatf * / core tools preferred
- ability to read engineering drawings (gd&t is a plus)
- bilingual english/spanish (required)
