job description:
the role of the systems controls engineer involves designing and implementing control systems for conveyor systems projects. The engineer will work closely with customers and other engineers to execute projects, design and commissioning controls on site. As a professional systems controls engineer, you will have multiple responsibilities including administrative tasks, monitoring project execution, and on-site customer support.
you will lead multiple projects on the design stages and on-site controls commissioning. This includes understanding safety concepts, completing or developing complex material handling systems designs, creating high-quality bills of materials, drawings preparation, and follow-up.
additionally, you will define and detail areas on a composite layout as well as on installation drawings. You will complete or develop and implement strategies related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction.
the systems controls engineer will also perform highly complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design. You will locate and apply customer standards as applicable.
key responsibilities include knowing and applying dematic application guides, writing plc code and emulating it for complex areas, performing high-performance standard work, and displaying critical thinking skills to bring successful resolution to high-impact problems.
the role requires strong leadership skills to manage small to medium-sized projects from sales turnover to customer service turnover. You will mentor junior project leads, supervise other engineers' projects, and support sales and solutions development teams.
the systems controls engineer is responsible for ensuring standard work packages are followed, assisting department managers with technical processes, communicating with customers for final system design, and coordinating with customers reviewing methods, tests, and project acceptance.
travel up to 25% to different customer locations and dematic locations may be required.

required skills and qualifications:
education: a bachelor's degree in engineering related discipline (controls engineering preferred). Certification may be required in some areas. Advanced english language proficiency is necessary.
knowledge and demonstrated competencies include a broad comprehensive knowledge of controls engineering through the successful completion of complex assignments.
you should demonstrate the ability to successfully apply complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of controls engineering. Develop your own functional criteria to solve problems.
