Job objective
laboratory and food safety guidelines for all products families
- responsible to establish long-term goals, strategies, plans and policies in terms of metrics and food safety systems and comply with govenment and client regulations (requirements).
- responsible to assist in establishing and maintaining a high level of quality compliance in all business units by benchmark and implementation of best practices throughout the
- responsible for ensuring that all business units have a compliance approach with the same philosophy and conditions (one quality and food safety system).
*main responsabilities*:
- generate, implement and maintain procedures and food safety systems to meet global regulatory requirements that may apply.
- design and implement standardized procedures for measuring the quality characteristics of the products
- establish statistical tools and optimal sampling plans in mp, work in progress and finished products.
- establish statistical tools and optimal sampling plans in supply chain for evaluation of compliance with critical control points in market
- design and evaluate standardized ponts for measuring the quality characteristics in process using mes systems or equivalent tools in the value chain.
- defines calibration, frequency and assurance standards (r + r) in the measurement laboratory equipment and in supply chain processes.
- maintains consistent methods for the collection and analysis of statistical data, in order to predict important trends for the product quality along the value chain.
- ensures that there is support to operations and continuous improvement teams for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
- be a resource for quality equipment at each of our plants and technology teams to provide advice and training, as needed.
- serve as a technical expert in the field on issues related to incidents of food safety and its possible implications for brands.
- analyzes new regulations and proposed plans to ensure compliance with them creating new metrics, reporting and tracking trends as well as the necessary training elements.
- actively participate in any product recall situation and monitor the withdrawal from the corporate level
knowledge
- bachelor's degree (master degree preferably) in microbiology, food science, chemistry, biotechnology or related field.
- preferably 3 years of experience in quality assurance/food chemistry and/or microbiology analysis.
- knowledge in international methods for quality and safety of food.
- knowledge of iso* certification and or laboratory management knowledge (preferred).
- working knowledge in international metrics and food quality regulatory standards (preferred).
- ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic or other form.
- ability for statistics data analyisis and data visualization.
- intermediate or advanced knowledge of microsoft word, excel software programs.
- advanced english, fluent speaking with written and reading ability.
- ability to work independently under limited supervision and at fast pace environments.
- ability to empower, motivate, inspire team, lead change and execute strategic decisions.
- demonstrate problem solving skills.
- open to travel when required (up to 40%).
