Production scheduler
responsibilities
* create and maintain weekly and daily production schedules (mps output) that minimize inventory investment, maximize productivity, and improve customer service levels.
* track schedule attainment to achieve customer delivery targets and inventory metrics.
* implement processes that enhance operating efficiencies and reduce costs within the plant and supporting supply chains.
* maintain replenishment signals within the erp system for manufactured items to ensure smooth material flow.
* coordinate with supplier scheduling, manufacturing, quality, and engineering to guarantee timely material availability for customer demands.
* manage daily production support: expedite materials, set priorities, and resolve supply issues.
* coordinate scheduling and inventory movement of all outside processing inventory locations.
* ensure on‑time delivery, inventory accuracy, schedule adherence, and inventory doh meet plant performance measures.
* operate within budget and contribute to reduced overhead and expenses.
* maintain effective working relationships and communication with all departments.
qualifications
* two‑year degree in an appropriate field or equivalent experience.
* 1–3 years of material management experience in a manufacturing environment (or, if lacking a two‑year degree, an additional 3 years of related experience).
* strong mechanical and analytical ability.
* proficiency in microsoft office suite (word, excel, access, powerpoint) and internet/email skills.
* extended knowledge of mrp and erp systems.
* experience with inventory forecasting, production scheduling, and capacity planning preferred.
* apics certification (cpim or cscp) preferred.
