position summary:
this position is responsible for support of general ledger, specifically for month end /yead end closing, account reconciliations and analysis and financial reporting. This position will also assist accounts receivable department with special projects and initiatives.
essential functions:
* account reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, analysis and issue resolutions related to those accounts
* month-end/year end close activities including journal entries, corporate reporting and ifrs package preparation
* inter and intracompany eliminations, reporting and reconciliations
* sap month end processing including assessments, allocations, and foreign exchange valuation.
* assist with ifrs reporting packages preparation
* communicate to central finance team on status of monthly closing including the preparation and submission of sem german gaap reporting
* assist other areas of finance (primarily ar) with various projects and initiatives
* assist with kmpg (interim/final) audit requests
* special projects as assigned by manager
knowledge:
* knowledge of gaap/ifrs and deep understanding of account reconciliations, accounting principles and procedures.
experience:
* 1-4+ years of experience in general accounting within a manufacturing or public accounting environment.
* sap or other erp experience strongly preferred.
skills:
* advanced skills in microsoft office (specifically excel).
* able to confidently and efficiently correspond to all levels of management.
* advanced independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* shows commitment to process improvement.
education:
* bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business related field required.
* accounting strongly preferred.
