* develop detailed daily and weekly production plans according to the master schedule.
* issue job orders and documentation packets to production daily, based on the detailed schedule.
* update issued job orders to production based on engineering changes with immediate implementation.
* review material availability for new job orders, release them, and expedite shortages with purchasing.
* close completed job orders in production.
* supervise the completion status of released job orders and inform management about potential constraints.
* maintain and review relevant data such as lead times, order policies, safety stock, and planning parameters.
* monitor supplier performance to meet quantity and delivery schedules, and implement corrective actions as needed.
* identify and resolve potential delivery issues with internal customers.
* maintain desired inventory levels while maximizing inventory turns.
* review excess inventories, identify root causes, and resolve them; assist with disposition and elimination of obsolete inventory.
* adhere to productivity and performance standards set by management.
* update forecasts as needed based on demand and design changes.
* review capacity load per work center and reschedule jobs to balance the workload.
* coordinate product shipments according to schedules, including preparing shipping paperwork and managing export instructions.
* communicate daily with production supervisors to establish priorities.
* expedite customer orders by negotiating with production and purchasing, making commitments, and following up until requirements are fulfilled.
* identify material shortages and expedite procurement processes.
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
* minimum 2 years of experience as a production planner.
* experience in a manufacturing environment.
* bilingual in english and spanish.
* understanding of mrp, purchasing, and planning bills.
* sense of urgency and strong follow-up skills.
* effective communication and administrative skills.
* analytical skills and problem-solving techniques.
* understanding of inventory turns concept.
