Nominista (payroll specialist)

the nominista is responsible for the accurate, timely processing of payroll for the organization’s divisions, ensuring compliance with mexican labor and tax laws, and maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
responsibilities
* calculate and process monthly payroll, including salaries, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
* apply compensation policies, benefits, and tax withholdings (isr, imss, infonavit, fonacot, repse).
* generate and verify pre‑payroll (pre‑nómina), timing, and fiscal reports (sua, idse, diot, infinstat).
* maintain payroll calendars and perform anniversaries, terminations, and payroll modifications in the hr system.
* prepare and submit payroll tax returns and communications (comprobante, das con, etc.).
* provide administrative support to the accounting department, including data extraction to the accounting module.
* ensure data quality, reconcile payroll records, and rescue inconsistencies.
requirements & qualifications
* academic background: licenciatura en contador público, contaduría, administración, finanzas o carrera afín.
* minimum 2–4 years of payroll experience (preferably managing 50+ employees).
* solid knowledge of the federal labor law, isr, imss, isn, infonavit, and other payroll regulations.
* experience with payroll software (credi, nomipaq, banner, erp, or similar).
* proficient in excel and office productivity tools.
* strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
* excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
preferred skills
* knowledge of payroll analytics and reporting (sua calculation, idse, diot).
* experience with payroll for large organizations or high‑volume operations.
* hands‑on hr system knowledge and data migration skills.
