Maxima apparel is seeking a seasoned senior graphic designer to lead its creative team in developing compelling graphic applications for apparel. This role demands a deep understanding of storytelling across various categories, from original artwork to typography, prints, patches, and branding elements.
key responsibilities:
* conceptualize, design, and execute all apparel graphics, including prints, logos, labels, hang tags, and branding assets.
* create seasonal graphic direction decks and moodboards to drive the creative narrative.
* collaborate with the apparel design team to ensure graphics enhance overall garment storytelling.
* design original artwork using illustration, photography, collage, and mixed media techniques.
* translate trends and cultural moments into compelling visual concepts that resonate with customers.
* work closely with print vendors and factories to ensure production feasibility and graphic quality across dtg, embroidery, heat transfer, puff print, and other applications.
* maintain organized files and ensure graphic specs are clear for sampling and production.
* mentor junior graphic designers and freelancers, providing creative and technical guidance.
* participate in seasonal presentations to leadership, merchandising, and sales teams.
qualifications:
* bachelor's degree in graphic design, illustration, or a related field.
* 7+ years of experience in graphic design for apparel (streetwear, youth, lifestyle, or sportswear brands preferred).
* strong portfolio showcasing apparel graphics, including original illustrations, typography, and print layouts.
* expertise in adobe creative suite (illustrator, photoshop, indesign); proficiency in figma, procreate, or other illustration tools is a plus.
* deep knowledge of screen printing, embroidery, dyeing techniques, and placement graphics.
* ability to interpret fashion trends, music, pop culture, and art into unique visual concepts.
* strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.
* experience working in fast-paced, seasonal calendar environments.
