Overviewas a lead buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted production and supporting business growth by overseeing purchasing operations for electronic components, fabricated materials, and indirect supplies. This position requires not only strong sourcing and negotiation skills but also the ability to lead and mentor a team of offshore buyers. You will balance cost, quality, and delivery while driving supplier performance and supporting strategic supply chain initiatives across the organization. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.responsibilitiesoversee procurement of electronic components, fabricated parts, and indirect materials in line with specifications and demand.manage and mentor a team of offshore buyers, ensuring proficient performance, process adherence, and professional development.establish clear performance metrics for the team (cost savings, on-time delivery, quality compliance).provide regular coaching and training to team memberscreate, release, manage and/or review purchase orders using erp/mrp systems.develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; monitor supplier performance on cost, delivery, and quality metrics.negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to achieve cost savings and secure supply.work with customer service, engineering, production, and quality to resolve material shortages or quality concerns.ensure accurate purchasing and inventory data within the erp system.prepare and deliver regular performance reports, progress updates, and key procurement metricsescalate material shortages, supplier risks, or team performance concerns as neededarrange transportation and logistics for inbound materials.collaborate with accounting on invoice reconciliation and returns.drive process improvements, standardization, and automation in procurement workflows.qualificationsbachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field4+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing; electronics/ems industry strongly preferred.at least 1–2 years of supervisory or lead experiencestrong erp/mrp system experience (epicor, sap, oracle, etc.).proficiency in excelexcellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.ability to complete ipc 610j rev e training (provided)
