role description
the key account manager is a strategic and results-oriented professional responsible for managing and growing our business relationship with top retailers. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing plans, ensuring optimal product placement and availability, and driving profitable growth within the key accounts and the brands davatta represents. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, along with a deep understanding of the retail landscape.
responsibilities
* strategic account management:develop and implement annual business plans and sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets within the key account.
* build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across various departments (e.g., buying, merchandising, supply chain).
* conduct regular business reviews with the retailer and the brand to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and address challenges.
* stay abreast of the retailer evolving strategies, initiatives, and competitive landscape.
* sales and business development:identify and pursue new business opportunities within the retail, including new product launches, promotions, and category expansions.
* negotiate pricing, promotions, and terms of trade to maximize profitability and market share.
* forecast sales and manage inventory to ensure product availability and minimize out-of-stocks.
* analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
* merchandising and execution:collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, supply chain) to ensure effective execution of merchandising plans and promotional activities.
* monitor product placement and shelf presence to ensure optimal visibility and sales performance.
* ensure compliance with vendor requirements and operational guidelines.
* manage promotional calendar and ensure timely execution of marketing programs.
* data analysis and reporting:utilize retail link and other data platforms to analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and market trends.
* develop and present regular reports to internal stakeholders, brand and retailer on account performance and key metrics.
* identify and track key performance indicators (kpis) to measure the effectiveness of sales and marketing initiatives.
* collaboration and communication:act as the primary point of contact for the retailer, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
* collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of account strategies.
* communicate market insights and customer feedback to internal stakeholders.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
* 3 years of experience in key account management, preferably with major retailers.
* proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving profitable growth.
* strong understanding of the retail industry, particularly the modern trade channel.
* excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
* proficiency in data analysis and reporting, including experience with retail link.
* strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* proficiency in microsoft 1 office suite (excel, powerpoint, word).
* excellent verbal and written communication skills in spanish and english
* proven experience in strategic planning and problem-solving
* ability to analyze market trends and customer feedback
* experience in developing and implementing sales strategies
