opportunity details include responsibilities related to quality systems, supplier quality, product modifications, and process improvements in alignment with kqms and sfo quality objectives.
responsibilities
* understand precision measurement, quality analysis, product acceptance testing, and other quality tasks aligned with the goals and objectives of the sfo quality system.
* analyze and take corrective actions to improve processes and product performance at the sfo plant.
* recommend, lead, and coordinate product modifications to improve quality, meet customer requirements, and reduce inventory. Support all aspects of kqms tier i, ii, iii, and iv achievement goals with necessary resources to complete all levels.
* ensure all areas under supervision implement and maintain all safety standard initiatives of kqms.
* lead by example and support other quality group members.
* support spc engineering, understand process capability studies and internal and external failure analyses to determine problem resolution per kqms and kos.
* resolve quality problems in manufacturing processes.
* direct and coordinate product modifications to improve quality, meet customer requirements, and reduce inventory. Work with npd engineers of faucets and showers to ensure the new product launch schedule stays on track.
* evaluate supplier capabilities to produce within specifications. Include supplier quality requirements, supplier surveys, certification, and incoming inspection plans. Investigate and recommend methods to reduce or eliminate root causes of nonconforming material as required by kqms and kos.
* assist in determining frequencies, methods, and locations of measurement and testing in the production sequence. Develop new techniques to establish optimal quality and customer satisfaction at economical costs.
* communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with manufacturing personnel, frontline supervisors, all levels of plant and division management, customers, and suppliers as part of a team-based organization. Track corrective actions.
* provide backup support for maintaining the sfo iso 9000 certification program at the sfo plant. Also support document, procedure, and process audits.
* support quality module audits, using sap to enter, release, and configure product omission lot records.
* assist production engineering with the plant operation certification process at sfo.
* support training of student associates in all measurement practices and assist with msa on all specialized instruments.
qualifications
* previous quality-related experience in the metallurgical or automotive industry.
* demonstrated knowledge of ppap (control plan and pfmea).
* demonstrated knowledge of gd&t and core tools.
* strong technical understanding of mechanical principles and practical use of common measuring instruments and precision measurement equipment (optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, cmms, surface plates, electronic measuring devices, and related equipment).
* ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, statistical quality control techniques, and problem-solving actions and results.
* ability to prepare complete and effective reports on special investigations and data summaries.
* proficient in using personal computers, common office software, statistical process control, databases.
* knowledge of power bi and power apps is a plus.
* english communication skills required.
